| #27 Justification JAM 2:24 - Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. JAM 2:26 - For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. The word spirit as taken from the Greek word, "pneuma," meansto breathethe rational soulvital principlethe spirit of Christthe Holy Spirit. >> There is such perfect harmony if you understand ROM 5:9 - Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. ROM 5:1 - Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: JAM 2:24 - Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. The harmony is all in Christ!!!! >>Justification is to be found not guiltynot a license to sin >> Imputed and imparted righteousness of Christ ISA 61:10 - I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. REV 19:7 - Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. ROM 16:26 - But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: Point one We are justified by His bloodsaved by His life Point two We are justified by the faith of Christ Point three "by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." Point one We are justified by His bloodsaved by His life >> The payment of the penalty is to restore the honour of the law. ROM 5:9 - 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. >>Christ the propitiation for our sin [Webster's Christian series]The act of appeasing wrathconciliating the favor of an offended personthe act of making propitious. propitiousDisposed to be gracious or mercifulready to forgive sinsto bestow blessings. ROM 3:24-25- 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 1JO 2:1-2- 1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 1JO 4:10 - Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Christ not only took away the penalty- but purchased our reconciliation by His obedience. ROM 5:19 - For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. ROM 5:10 - For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 2CO 5:19 - To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. ROM 5:1- For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. >>Jesus lay down His own lifeas an act of obedience JOH 10:18 - No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. PHI 2:8-9 - And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: >> Reconciled while we were yet sinners ROM 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. EPH 2:4 - But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, EPH 2:5 - Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 2CO 5:21 - For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Point two We are justified by the faith of Christ GAL 2:16-17- 16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. 17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. GAL 2:20 - I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. GAL 3:22-26- 22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. EPH 3:12-13 - 12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. 13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. PHI 3:9 - And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: HEB 12:2-3- 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Point three "by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." ROM 8:29-30 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. The washing of regeneration TIT 3:5 - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Fruits\or works are the evidence of the work of regeneration MAT 7:16-20- 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. The obedience of faith PHI 2:5- 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. JAM 2:14 - 14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? James give an illustration JAM 2:15-16 - 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Faith is tried with obedience JAM 2:21-22- 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. The angel spoke a second time GEN 22:15-18- 15 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, 16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: 17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; 18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. >> show me thy faith by thy works JAM 2:24 - Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. JAM 2:25 - Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? JAM 2:26 - For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. 1PE 2:7 - Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, MAT 11:28-30- 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. |
